Caught the newest kids as they were laying on top of one of the feed buckets. The little black and white one is a little girl, and the white one is a boy. He’s got his arm around her. Isn’t that just the cutest thing?
One of the girls had another baby today. Another little girl. Here she is about a year old, and momma is still cleaning her up. I am glad to say both are doing well. This particular nanny is a really good momma, despite her cantankerous ways. This little girl is actually the second new baby in as many days, bringing our total to 4 in the last week. I hope to get shots of the other new baby real soon.
The night before last the Devil Dog was making quite a ruckus outside. I went out to get him and heard the faint bleat of a new baby. While he may be annoying, he always alerts me when a new kid is born. Quick as can be, I grabbed my headlamp, and we all headed down to the pen to see who had a baby. Harriet had twins! I think there is nothing quite as adorable as a newborn goatie. Nellie is the light one, and the dark one just had to be named Bandit.
Had a surprise delivery today. This momma has bad teats, so is unable to properly nurse her baby. The little girl is the smallest kid I have seen born on the farm to date. Yeah, she’s in the bedroom for a few days until strong enough to be in with the older bottle babies. Bathtub is still full of kittens. Geesh!
