Day 183 – Thinking Outside the Box

I can’t get paint to stick to the laminate cabinets that we have, so have been brainstorming as to other options. It hit me today, could I possibly give the kitchen a bit more color and make it more “our own” by simply covering the doors with contact paper? After much online research, my spirits soared. I have a partial roll, and with only one door in the guest bathroom, thought why not give it a try? This is my first attempt, and I do believe I have found my solution. Now to just figure out what color(s) and to find a lot more contact paper. In the end, I believe the kitchen will be fit for this place we call our farm.

Day 182 – Au Gratin Taters

Made the men in my life some home made Au Gratin Taters for dinner, extra cheesy per Gator’s (aka The Boy) request. Took quite a while, but was worth all the time invested to hear they were really good. In case you want to try them sometime, the recipe is below.

Day 179 – Property of NASA?

That’s what it says on it, right there at the top, along with a phone number. Maybe someone should call it?

Day 178 – Traipsing Through the Woods

Went stomping through the woods in search of the elusive Paw Paw. Saw quite a few trees, but this hot summer did it’s number on them. On the way back to the truck, we walked the dry creek bed and looked for arrowheads.

Day 177 – Living Room Floor

I am standing on the newly laid tile in the portion of the living room where we plan to put the wood stove. Yay!

Day 176 – Bathroom Floor

Guest bathroom floor repaired and new tile laid… Check

Day 175 – Napping

Mycat says, “I sure hope you aren’t wanting these 2×4’s any time soon.”

Day 174 – Another One From the Archives

Been a busy busy week so far. Had to pull a sunset picture out of the archives.
